My approach to design leadership starts with creating an environment where designers can do their best work. That means understanding each person's motivations, strengths, and goals, while also helping teams build trust and move toward a shared purpose. Just as importantly, it means developing deep empathy for customers so the work is grounded in real needs and real impact.
I bring strategy through to execution by building strong connections across people, processes, and projects. I communicate openly, forming strong relationships and giving clear direction and feedback. And I use vision — expressed through artifacts, storytelling, and shared understanding — to inspire teams and keep everyone aligned on where we're headed and why.
I focus on delivering high-quality work by giving teams clear principles that guide their decisions and connect insights to rationale. I support solid design processes in partnership with cross-functional teams, and reinforce healthy rituals — regular feedback, thoughtful critique, and a culture where trust makes honest conversations possible.
